Let me tell you a little bit about moi :)
I’m creative, passionate and a bit of a perfectionist. My style is feminine, classic with a modern twist, and chic. I fell in love with fashion when I was about 8 years old. Despite my mother warning me about the ‘nudity’ (hmmm sheer clothing lol) on my fave show (well, besides She-Ra and Jem and the Holograms), Fashion Television. Without this show I would not be who I am today. I was so sad when it ended. I’m pretty sure a lot of people felt the same. Fun fact-I ‘met’ Jeanne Beker at a Red Dress fashion show! I say ‘met’ because I forgot how to speak and just sat for a photo while gesturing...wow I did not expect that! She was so fabulous! Anyhow, after my years of making clothes for Barbie dolls and sketching designs for my favourite pop singers, I attended NBCCD where I took fashion design. Absolutely...Loooooved it! I met life long friends there as well as people who continue to support me today.
So, how did I get into jewellery design/making? I was fortunate enough to work for a wonderful local company that sadly closed their doors last year, What On Earth Jewellers. I worked there for nearly 11 years. I self taught and learned from some amazing designers I had the pleasure of working with. I learned so much working there, from design to business. I gained a new set of skills that paired so wonderfully with my fashion designing.
My online store has a variety of jewellery designs for sale, and coming very soon will be clothing! I also offer custom fashion services for the Fredericton and surrounding area. Several of my designs can be found at Robert Simmonds Clothing, located in downtown Fredericton.
